The vice president of human resources development for the entity that owns Zippy’s Restaurant will be the keynote speaker at the Nutrition & Physical Activity Coalition’s sixth annual meeting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 at the Kahili Golf Course clubhouse in Waikapu.

Denicia (Dinny) Trinidad, of FCH Enterprises, will discuss wellness in the workplace and her company’s E Ola Pono (Live Well) program. Employees are energized, participation is high and insurance costs are contained, with many stories of people improving their quality of life as a result of the program, a news release about the event said.

Also on the agenda is an update by Public Works Deputy Director Rowena Dagdag-Andaya on the county’s environmental projects, including the Northshore Greenway, Safe Routes to Schools projects and Complete Streets policy, and information about state transportation projects.

Officers and directors of Maui County NPAC will be elected for the 2013-14 year, and “Making a Difference” acknowledgments that honor individuals, organizations and/or businesses making positive impacts in Maui County in nutrition and/or physical activity will be awarded. Nominations will be accepted through Friday; forms may be obtained by contacting NPAC at sandra@npacmaui.com.
